If you have been reading my blog, you have no doubt come across several references to heart health supplements throughout. But what you might be wondering is why you shouldn’t just go down to your local supermarket or “health” food store for example, and buy from there instead? After all, all supplements are the same, aren’t they? Or are they?
The answer is “no, they aren’t all the same.” I want to tell you a little story about a couple of friends of ours. A few years ago, my husband decided to lose weight. He spent six days per week at the gym doing cardio and muscle-building exercises. In addition to this, he decided to use conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and Citrimax ( an appetite suppressant) to help him with his goal of losing weight. He did very well, and he met his goal. But you need to know that he did not take just take any supplements into his body. He made sure that the company he purchased from was reputable and had the research-recommended doses and science to back them. When friends of ours saw how much weight my husband had lost, they decided that they wanted to lose weight too. Instead of buying the CLA and Citrimax that we recommended to them, they went to a health-food store (one you would think would be reputable) and bought what they thought was the same kind of CLA and Citrimax that my husband was taking. Problem was that it wasn’t. It contained way too much niacin, resulting in them having hot flushes and landing them in the emergency department. One of the side effects of too much niacin can be liver damage. Well, they were okay because they got help in time, but it just goes to show that buying a supplement just because it appears to be the same thing is often not the case.
When choosing a heart health supplement (or any supplement for that matter), you want to choose a supplement from a reputable company that uses evidence-based practices to design their supplements. The supplements should contain research-recommended doses, and that is exactly why I have been recommending Purity Products to you throughout.
