Cholesterol & Heart Disease
In the last post, there was a great video that discussed cholesterol and statin medications and how it’s important that you know that treating cholesterol is not as simple as just popping a pill. You need to change your lifestyle including your diet, your exercise and activity levels, and lose weight if necessary. This will all help in lowering your “bad” LDL cholesterol levels. Today, I want to give you some information on a couple of natural alternatives of keeping your cholesterol in check.
As mentioned in a previous post, there is a great book that you will love that has really good reviews. Here is that book and an excerpt of one review:
“By following Dr. Brill’s 10 simple steps, I was able to lower my cholesterol 30 points in a few weeks, and go off statins. There is an excellent chapter on recipes to lower cholesterol, all of which happen to be relatively simple to prepare as well as delicious.”
In this book, one of the author’s recommendation is to take garlic. You can eat garlic, but if you’re scared that the scent of garlic coming from your body will drive your friends away, I’d suggest you take a quality garlic supplement. Garlic is one of the oldest healing herbs, and still remains one of the best. It is a powerful healer that has been used for centuries. Garlic is wonderful in being able to keep your cholesterol and blood pressure in check, as well as decreasing the chances of developing clots that can lead to heart attacks and strokes. Garlic has also been shown to decrease blood sugar levels in diabetics. Here is the garlic supplement that I suggest as it is manufactured by a quality supplement company:
